A Heads Up For Tomorrow's Park Board Meeting
REGULAR PARK BOARD MEETING. The regular MPRB meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Park Board Headquarters, 2117 W. River Road. Open Time is at 5:30 p.m. This meeting will be televised.
The Board will be voting on extending Superintendent Jon Gurban's contract until June 30, 2011. The current contract is for $139,817 with a car allowance of $500 per month.
An editorial in the Star Tribune on October 30, was critical of the out-going board for usurping the authority of the new board by voting prematurely on the extension of the superintendent's contract that does not expire until June 30, 2010, well into the term of the new board.
