The Ever Evasive Agenda
To all of you who are following Park Board meetings on Park Watch or cable TV:
It is interesting to note, as I've observed before, how agendas are manipulated. For example, on September 15 the minority commissioners requested a detailed accounting of all the reserve funds. The request was ignored. Again, when discussions of the budget were before the board, Commissioner Vivian Mason requested a detailed accounting of the $17 million in reserve funds. That request was made at the November 3 meeting. The breakdown of those funds should be provided at tomorrow's (Nov. 17) meeting. There, however, is no mention of reserve funds on the agenda. So how much longer do the requesting commissioners AND the PUBLIC have to wait to receive an accounting of $17 million of the public's money??? AFTER the budget has been voted on??? Shouldn't that information be provided BEFORE voting on the budget?
