Superintendent candidate: Jon Gurban

Comments

If it seems to you that Gurban has some vague, questionable bits in his resume, you're not the only one. Like how he now claims a Bachelor's Degree in an unamed major recieved in 1981 from the University of Manitoba when he was living and working over 3 provinces to the west on the very tip of the coast in British Columbia? Or why did his resume, which is exactly the same one he used last year, not mention receiving a university degree, yet now he suddenly claims he has one? He also graduated from high school around 1967 and his first job of consequence is 8 years later in Canada. Do you suppose he was a draft evader? Personally, I just get a big laugh out of his incredibly miserable English skills. It's among the worst written resumes I've ever seen. Frankly, Gurban is a loser. Why is he even in the running for this job?

He lists University of Manitoba. Did he attend? For how long? Did he receive a degree? If he has a degree, what is it in? What year did he get it?

What is the time period that he was a director of MM Park and Rec Assoc.? Was there a break between that and his prior position?

I have talked with(or left messages for)three pro-Gurban commissioners and am depressed with the thought that he will be "embedded (if you will)" into our park management. I think the public will remember the faulty hiring last year, the lack of civil discussion, the poor public investments and management when it comes to electing commissioners in 2005, and also will some day regret having missed the opportunities offered by hiring Chris Gears. With bad behavior, money problems and very questionable investments by this board, I think our independent park system is threatened and may be lost to us citizens. Let's find good commissioner candidates. 12/8/04 a.m.

According to Jon Gurban himself, he has a 3-year degree in Physical Education.

"Therefore, I am advising park staff today that NO PERMITS WILL BE REQUIRED OF INDIVIDUALS OR SMALL..."

Hey man, good 'advise'...

Get a clue.
